The Northbound Interface (NBI) is a collection of services through which the contents of the Spacetime digital twin can be defined and service provisioning resources may be requested.
This includes functions such as:
- specifying the time-dynamic position and orientation of platforms and antennas
- defining networking parameters on each node in the network
- and creating requests for service that will be scheduled and routed through the network
The Northbound Interface (NBI) APIs comprise:
- the Model API: an API that manages the network model, which describes the static capabilities and constraints of the physical and networking layers of the network
- the Provisioning API: an API to effect changes in the way that Spacetime should operate the network, which includes defining and managing services as well as other changes such as downtimes, spectrum policies, et cetera
